a (Living) Monument

SELF-MADE, SELF-CONTAINED, SELF SUSTAINED

A (LIVING) MONUMENT
BSC ARCHITECTURE / / STAGE THREE
A (LIVING) MONUMENT WILL PROVIDE AN ALTERNATIVE LIFESTYLE FOR ALL THOSE WHO FEEL DETACHED FROM SOCIETY. IT WILL PROMOTE A SELF-SUSTAINED, ECO-FRIENDLY SYSTEM, WHERE NEWCOMERS AND EXPERTS ALIKE WILL BE ALLOWED TO PRACTICE A WAY OF OFF-GRID LIVING.
A (LIVING) MONUMENT PROVIDES A PLATFORM FOR SUSTAINABILITY TO THE MISFITS, THE NON CONFORMISTS AND THE RENEGADES. BY SETTING UP A SERIES OF CLOSED-CYCLE SYSTEMS, THE BUILDING IS COMPLETELY OFF-GRID, ALLOWING RESIDENTS TO BE COMPLETELY DETACHED FROM SOCIETY AND SIMULTANEOUSLY PROMOTE A DYNAMIC EXAMPLE OF AN ALTERNATIVE MEANS OF LIVING.
EXTERNALLY THE BUILDING FRAMES COUNTY DOWN CATHEDRAL AT THE TOP OF THE STREET, WHILST INTERNALLY IT PLAYFULLY DENIES ANY OUTWARDS VIEW TO THE GOTHIC MONUMENT. THIS IS A BUILDING THAT RESPECTS WHAT CAME BEFORE, BUT IS NOT BLINDED BY IT. IT CAPTURES THE ETHOS OF THE TOWN, WHILST CHALLENGING ITS DOGMA.
